Definition
Combining with ICAM-3, intercellular adhesion molecule 3, and transmitting the signal from one side of the membrane to the other to initiate a change in cell activity. ICAM-3, or CD50, are constitutively expressed on monocytes, granulocytes and lymphocytes; on physiological stimulation, they become transiently phosphorylated on serine residues. Comment
Note that this term represents an activity and not a gene product. Consider also annotating to the molecular function terms 'cell adhesion molecule binding ; GO:0050839' and 'receptor binding ; GO:0005102' and the biological process term 'cell adhesion ; GO:0007155'.
