Definition
A process in which a symbiont interferes with the normal execution of the host cell G0/G1 transition checkpoint. The host is defined as the larger of the organisms involved in a symbiotic interaction. Some viruses benefit from keeping cells in resting state (G0), while others favor entry through G1 and subsequent cell division to replicate more efficiently. Source: VZ:880
