The muscle has been reported from Macroxyela (Beutel and Vilhelmsen 2007) and from Athalia rosae (Dhillon 1966). Although this muscle has not been reported from other Hymenoptera, the description of the intrinsic palpal musculature in most papers are very vague (i.e. Snodgrass 1942 or Duncan 1939).
