The perception of the qualities of sweet, sour, salt and bitter. Gustatory sensilla are uniporous hair or peg sensilla that respond to stimulating molecules in the liquid phase. In mosquitoes they are present on the legs and mouthparts, and the input from the various sensilla is intergrated centrally.
