IDOMAL:0002203
The ecdysis between the larval and the pupal stage.
This ecdysis is heralded by the appereance of the respiratory trumpets and palmate float setae of the pharate pupa as dark bodies beneath the larval cuticle. The larval trachea collapse at this time. The larval cuticle and tracheal linings are shed much as at previous ecdyses, and during this period the labial and maxillary palp disks are extruded from the peripodial cavities.
