The organs involved in the creation and excretion of urine. (NCI)
The organs that make urine and remove it from the body. The urinary tract is divided into two parts. The upper urinary tract includes the kidneys and ureters. The lower urinary tract includes the bladder and urethra. The kidneys remove waste and extra fluid from the blood to make urine. The urine flows from the kidneys through the ureters to the bladder. It is stored in the bladder until it leaves the body through the urethra.
