The muscle inserts on the distivolsellar apodeme in some nonapocritan Hymenoptera and on the proximal apex of the gonossiculus in Ceraphronoidea.

The male genitalia muscle that arises from the proximal apex of the parossiculus laterally of the site of origin of the medial intrinsic muscle of the volsella and inserts laterally of the site of parossiculal site of articulation of the gonossiculus.
