Basal-most portion of the forewing vein complex that occurs behind the costal cell; measured from the constriction that delimits the humeral plate to the point at which the vein touches the leading edge of the wing apically.

Name of wing vein, applied to apocritan wings with reduced venation, e.g., Chalcidoidea, Platygastroidea, composed of the base of the radius (before split into R1 and Rs) and the basal portion of R1 that is not on the margin of the wing.
